It is a dream for me to partner with Kyle, not only do I respect her as I teacher but I also admire the way that she moves through the world with so much joy, humour and depth. Being in her presence is like watching a shooting star - pure magic.

Cocoon Portugal is a 275-acre coastal farm and retreat center, offering inspiration and community to the modern traveler. It's pure magic. Each morning is a celebration, and we’ll honor it by practicing under a canopy of old growth pines. We’ll spend afternoons lounging on oversized hammocks, dipping in the freshwater lake or exploring the cliff-lined coast. Late Apulian Summer Retreat w Anton + The Sacred Fig (Copy)

Join us in one of our favourite destinations!

For many of us, our day-to-day reality is a demanding job and social obligations. Technologies that were designed to simplify our lives have somehow added to our already overflowing plates. Our culture tells us that being ‘busy’ is a good thing: it means we're successful. Whether or not that’s true, it certainly leaves us with less time and energy to take care of ourselves.

When was the last time you felt fully recharged?  When was the last time you had the space to dedicate to the things that you find important? We designed this retreat to help you realign and recalibrate your patterns. Step away from day-to-day dramas, and get a greater perspective on yourself, your goals, your desires and your friendships.

This retreat is all about taking time do something that feels foreign: savor. In Puglia, we’ll embrace late summer with ripe apricots, lazy afternoons, boat adventures and Aperol Spritzes. Expect swims in the crystal-blue Adriatic and gorgeous Italian meals prepared by our private chef. Of course, you'll practice world-class yoga, but also expect to create new bonds, share surprising conversations and still find plenty of time for self-reflection.

About Puglia

For this late summer retreat, we’re heading all the way to the bottom of Italy’s heel: Puglia. Our retreat takes place in the Salento region of Puglia, a rough-cut version of the best that Italy has to offer. You won’t find camera-toting tourists, tour buses or English menus here. This is a dry, remote, ochre-hued land of olive groves and cliff-jumping kids, too languid to have much of a scene. The food is homey and unfussy, flavored by the region’s Greek past.

The Villa

Our private villa has been the summer residence to Dukes since the 19th century. It’s a historic and whimsical villa, surrounded by olives, pines and palms. The entrance to the villa is magnificent: a private alley, lined with century old trees. We’re steps from the small port of Tricase, granting us views of multi-colored fishing boats and easy access to cool-downs in the calm, clear Adriatic.

SICILY! With Tony and Dages: A Sumptuous Retreat

Join us, Tony and Dages, in Sicily as we linger in a pregnant pause. Relish in mediation, two daily yoga practices, dips in the freshwater pool and visits to nearby beaches and historical villages. We’ll begin our days with a vigorous yoga practice in a gorgeous, pitch-roofed barn, fully outfitted with props. Our classes weave together elements of Ashtanga, Katonah Yoga, mantra and breathwork that will take you deeper into the terra incognita of your most valuable asset, your body. After working up an appetite, we’ll indulge in big brunches and delicious dinners that highlight the best of seasonal and local cuisine. Our home for the week is a 19th century farmhouse, La Masseria, in the heart of Sicily's rugged, ancient and arid southern landscape.

About Us:

Tony and Dages have decades of very different practice and teaching in their wheelhouses. After meeting (in Italy!) in 2018, we became curious about each other’s practices. Both ardent self-practitioners, we recognized that our shared nerdiness and discipline manifested in two unique styles of practice. We learned about each other’s formulas and borrowed freely from the other’s recipe box. We are eager to share our findings with our communities.

Credentialing:

KATONAH YOGA® was founded by Nevine Michaan, and is a Hatha yoga practice refined over forty years, blended with Taoist theory, sacred geometries, pranayama, and meditation. For more information, please visit www.katonahyoga.com.

This program include 20 hours bankable towards *KATONAH YOGA® certification and a digital manual.

*To become a certified KATONAH YOGA® teacher, one must complete 200 hours of Katonah Yoga education with certified Katonah Yoga instructors, after completing a prerequisite 200 hour RYT (Yoga Alliance) training. All intensives, workshops and classes with us count toward the 200 Hour Katonah Yoga education requirement. For more information on this and to begin the process of becoming certified visit Katonah Yoga

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Deposits secure your spot on the training and are not refundable. Refunds for the balance payments vary depending on timing.

For cancellation requests submitted with more than 45 days until the retreat/training date: You may transfer to a future program or choose to get refunded 100% of total amount (less deposit).

There are no refunds permitted for cancellation requests submitted within 45 days of retreat/training date, no exceptions.

Nobody books with the intention of cancelling, but unexpected events do occur, so please consider purchasing travel insurance. We recommend squaremouth for travel insurence. This is an aggregator that will help you find the best plan that suits your needs.

Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits will be granted for failure to attend or complete the program or for arriving late or leaving early.

Spring of Possibility 20hr Training with Katonah Yoga

The Spring of Possibility

A 20 hour online training and practicum with

Nevine Michaan, Kyle Miller, Tony Lupinacci + Anton Brandt

A joyful exploration into the practices that allow us to consciously weave the thread of our personal narratives.

March 4th - March 20th

In the past year, we’ve seen extraordinary global shifts affect everyone across the world.

As Spring approaches, we remind ourselves that our lives are full of possibility! If we set up our circumstances well, put in the effort, we can make our highest visions a reality.

Katonah Yoga is designed to be threaded on top of other practices, and it’s incredibly pragmatic. These are maps and tools, designed to be used in life. One can weave the magic square, for instance, on top of a mantra practice, or a swimming practice. The metaphors are rich, and constantly developing. When we cross reference with one another, we weave in different perspectives to add richness + resilience.

In this unique program, experience how three different teachers cross reference Katonah Yoga into their teachings, studies and practices across a wide landscape of methodology.

In this program, expect to practice! Expect to move your body, your breath, and your imagination. This is not focused on theory (there are other wonderful programs specifically for that!). This program is designed to drive the breath, to get us into our bodies, so we can go where we want to go. Expect mantra, pranayama, vinyasa, guided meditation, self-responsibility techniques, visualization, personal growth tools and heart pumping movement. This program is perfect for teachers and students looking to Spring into their Potential and experience Joy!

Tools + Techniques for Cultivating Joy

A sense of joy can be present in all situations whereas happiness is often fleeting and can end the moment its begun.

In this 2 hour workshop, we will use asana along with deep spiritual practices such as pranayama, mantra, and kriya to create, or build upon a daily spiritual practice. A dedicated sadhana can help us stay grounded and steady instead of subscribing to life’s ups and down’s. When we become comfortable with uncertainty - joy is possible!

The goal of this workshop is to help students apply tools from the practice to everyday life.

Paris, France - Weekend of Workshops

Join me for a weekend of workshops at my friend Mathieu Bolderon’s gorgeous school, Lomey Yoga!

Inversions + Arm Balances (Saturday)

This workshop begins with a fun and challenging vinyasa sequence and transitions into a breakdown of different arm balances and inversion postures. The overall concept of Bandhas (energy locks) will be explained but we will focus primarily on AmsaBandha - the shoulder lock, and Hasta Bandha - the hand lock.  Students will first practice incorporating the locks in easier arm balance variations and then will have the option to apply them to more difficult asanas.

Inversions help to recirculate lymphatic and spinal fluid resulting in mental clarity and reduced anxiety.  Arm balances encourage students to connect to their strength and overcome fear.

Hips Don’t Lie (Sunday)

We hold a lot of unprocessed emotions deep in the tissues of our body, our hips are one of the main areas that we tend to store old emotional trauma. This 2hr workshop will begin with a healing mantraand a calming, clear and meditative vinyasa warm up. We will then progress into the hip circuit with longer yin style holds. Mula and Uddhiyana Bandha will be used to stabilize and safely open the hips, glues, and inner groins. We will close with a Kundalini Kriya for peace and truth.

Milan, Italy - Masterclass Series April 16 + 17

Join me for my first time teaching in Milan!

I’ll be teaching 2hr Masterclasses at Studio Jyotir on April 16th + 17th from 7pm - 9pm. These classes will include Asana, Pranayama, Mantra and Kriya Yoga.

I’ve been practicing for over a decade and teaching for 8 years. I practice because it allows me to process all of the hidden emotions that are tucked away beneath the surface. I practice because I like to sweat and to me, sweat is an access point for transformation. I know that when I practice I can be a person that I’m proud of. I’m kinder, I’m more alert and I have perspective.

I teach because I want to connect and because I want to help my students step into their strength with a sense of curiosity and lightness.

In my classes, we use physical awareness to find our edge and uncover the potential that lies beneath. That’s where the magic happens! Come!

BALI RETREAT W THE SACRED FIG + ANTON BRANDT
Dec

BALI RETREAT W THE SACRED FIG + ANTON BRANDT

For many of us, our day-to-day reality is a demanding job and endless social obligations.  New technologies that were designed to simplify our lives somehow have added more to our plates (and iCals).  We’re expected to be more available & more accessible, and as each day ends, we find ourselves with just a sliver of personal time left over.

Our culture tells us that being ‘busy’ is somehow a good thing.  We associate being busy with being in demand, sought after, and successful.  Whether we see this busy-ness as self-imposed or not, it’s harder than ever these days to align ourselves with the person we want to be.

When was the last time you felt fully recharged?  When was the last time you had the space to really dedicate yourself to the things that are truly important to you? The Sacred Fig retreats are specifically designed to realign & re-calibrate.  To step away from our day-to-day dramas, and get a greater perspective on ourselves, our goals, our desires, & our friendships.

At this special New Year’s retreat – celebrate with sunrise meditation, and afternoon naps by the pool.  Celebrate with lovingly prepared, nourishing meals every day, and world-class yoga asana, taught by qualified, experienced & inspirational teachers.  Celebrate with new friendships, with sweat, with surprising conversations & laughter… and still plenty of time for self-reflection.

ABOUT BALI

Bali has a certain magic to it. Somewhere between the stunning rice terraces and ridiculous surf… the daily offerings that mystically appear throughout the day, and the ever abundant tropical fruits & flowers.

For this luxurious New Year's retreat, we're getting the best that Bali has to offer. For the first 3 nights, we're staying among the rice terraces at Blue Karma Boutique Resort, one of Bali's most fabulous properties. Blue Karma is situated just outside the small artistic community of Ubud, on the slopes leading up to the volcano. Ubud is the cultural heart of Bali, interwoven with temples, coconut palms and rice terraces in every direction. For the final 3 nights, we'll head to Uluwatu, where we'll stay in a private villa on the bluffs, with our own access to the beach & surf below.

Waking up with the sun, meditating, & practicing yoga seem to come naturally here. Bali is the only island in Indonesia (out of tens of thousands) that’s Hindu, and their culture has a uniqueness all of it’s own. From the temple offerings, to the sound of the gamelan, and that sweet smile that the Balinese so readily share, Bali tends to sweep most of their feet.

Bali is just south of the equator, so it’s reliably hot & sunny. It’s tropical and wet. The largest (and still active) volcano, is considered by Balinese to be the center of the universe.

THE RETREAT CENTER

For the first 3 nights, we'll be staying at Blue Karma Boutique Resort. This stunning property is about 10 minutes outside the town of Ubud. We've led past trainings at Blue Karma, and we're thrilled to come back. Surrounded by rice fields & fireflies, the lush property includes an infinity swimming pool tapering off into the rice terraces, and a gorgeous bamboo yoga shala build on the principles of sacred geometry. The shala is complete with all the props you'll need - no need to bring your mat. The property is interspersed with open-air 'bale' bungalows complete with day beds & pillows, ideal for an afternoon nap or quiet conversation. Expect lovely touches like turmeric tonic at sunrise, herb-infused waters by the pool in the afternoon, and turn-down service for your room each evening.

Each spacious villa accommodates two people very comfortably, and features two twin beds with fine linens, rain showers, air-conditioning, unique artwork, a small refrigerator, and all the amenities to brew coffee or herbal tea in the comfort of your own villa. Some villas feature a private deck or verandah, some have outdoor showers, while others are two-floors.

On a typical day, we'll have breakfast after morning asana, a light lunch, and lovingly-prepared vegetarian dinner. Purified spring water, french-press coffee, herbal teas, fresh almond & cashew milks, as well as various tonics & elixirs are prepared daily. The retreat property is thoughtful with accommodating dietary restrictions.

For the final 3 nights (where we'll celebrate the New Year!) we're heading to the beach! We're staying in a private villa situated high on the Uluwatu bluffs. We have a cliff-front pool with gorgeous sunset views, and direct access to the beach below. When we're staying in Uluwatu, we'll have two meals per day: a late breakfast feast and early dinner, so that those who want to adventure out have plenty of time to explore. If you're feeling adventurous, join Anton for an afternoon surf!

DAILY SCHEDULE

This retreat takes place from Dec 27, 2018 - Jan 2, 2019. Plan on arriving at Blue Karma in Ubud anytime after 2pm on Dec 27th (our first yoga class as a group is at 5pm in Dec 27th), and leaving after yoga & breakfast on January 2rd. (We'll help coordinate your transport to the airport). Each day is well-balanced with asana, healthy meals, and plenty of free time to spend as you wish. There are lots of optional activities, and you can get into as much or as little as you want. Below is a schedule just to give you a general idea.
